No one knows what happened to their son Charles.
Levi served in the Civil War with my granduncle, Capt. John S. Pratt, ILL Co I 15th inf.
He became ill as a result of being in the service, returned home & died shortly.
Their daughter, Judette, m. Norman O. Pratt my granduncle.
Judette and Norman had one known child, a son, John Edward b. 16 Oct 1870, who died before 1910. Have not found him.
John and Norman Pratt were my granduncles.

Seth Daniels of Waukegan is a prisoner, we also lost one man John Smith, and suppose he is a prisoner.
By the way, I have some relics of the field; one is a portrait of a young woman, found on the body of a dead secesh; she is really handsome; the other is a good rifle which I intend to use the next engagement we have, and which I hope to bring home with me. We have lost heavily in our regiment, when all die, who must, we will have lost about 60 in killed, and 150 wounded and missing. About every other man in our regiment was either killed or wounded. We have lost out of our company 4 killed, and 16 wounded; of the latter I fear 2 at least will die.
Our dead are, Louis J. French of Libertyville, killed on the field; Daniel E. Snowden of Oregon, ditto; Joel W. Ames, shot on the field after he was wounded; Leonard Kellog, shot through the stomach, walked to the Landing, some two miles, and died next day.
Our wounded are, Geo. W. Bartlett, Orderly shot through the small of the Back; Joseph Norton 2d, Regiment shot through the thigh; Benj. L. Gardner, 3d Regt, shot slightly in the forehead; Louis Fisher, 4th Regt., slightly in the left arm; George Hipivill? (Hipwell?), 1st corp, through the fore arm; E. C. Wheclock (Edwin Clement Wheelock), 5th corp, badly in the body and hip; W. R. Price, 7th corp, through both arms; one near the shoulder, the other near the wrist; Private Broughton Cleveland, badly in the head from a shell; Jared D. Gage, in the shoulder; Levi Griswold, A. G. Hart, and C. Babst, all in their heads, Henry Pothaust, dangerously in the body; Marcus Rich, shot through the leg and shoulder.
