He graduated from Dunn High School, Dunn, NC, in 1979, and served three years in the U.S.Air Force. After attending culinary school, he worked with restaurants and hotels.
He is survived by a daughter, Tabitha Nicole Lee of Spring Hope, a son, Delray Toney of Massachusetts, his mother, Edna Autry and husband Wallace of Dunn, his father, William Toney of Glouster City, NJ, four sisters, Terry Gill and husband Pat of Dunn, Margaret Elvers and husband John of Raleigh, Diane Johnson and husband Jim of Cary, Elizabeth Hodges and husband Stephen of Dunn, a stepbrother, Wally Autry and wife Denise of Apex, a stepsister, Laura Cotton of St. Augustine, FL, a grandchild, Peyton Pope, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was held at the Skinner & Smith Funeral Home by Rev. Roy Johnson.
