Edgar C. LaBarge, 64, of 4 Main st., died about 4 p. m. Tuesday at Mercy General Hospital, where he had been a patient since February 5. The funeral will be at 9 a. m. Friday at Holy Name Church, and interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery in the spring. Mr. LaBarge suffered from emphysema for a couple of years, and had been seriously ill during the past year. He was born at Derrick Sept. 3, 1905, the son of Charles W. and Addie Amell LaBarge. The family came to Tupper Lake in his boyhood, and he attended the local schools, and was married at Holy Name Church in 1928 to Bessie LaJeunesse of this village. Mr. LaBarge was employed as a cook at Sunmount VA Hospital for many years. In 1943 the family moved to Fonda, and he entered the employ of New York Central Railroad, as a brakeman. He returned to Tupper Lake about ten years ago. Mrs. LaBarge died at Fonda Jan. 21, 1969. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Addie LaBarge. Tupper Lake; one son, Robert, of Fultonville; two sisters, Mrs. Veronica Barrett and Mrs. Oscar Corneau, and one brother, Drummond LaBarge, , all of Tupper Lake; and three grandchildren. He was a member of Tupper Lake Lodge 640, Loyal Order of Moose.
