The birth date above is her baptism date at St.Peter Parmentergate, Norwich.
Sarah Busby's first husband is said to have been Ensign Thomas Cakebread, married 1637, probably Watertown, Massachusetts Bay Colony. Source: "Captain John Grout of Watertown and Sudbury, Massachusetts and Some of His Descendants," p. 82. Capt. John Grout and the Cakebread family were very intertwined in the early 1600's. John was very close to Thomas Cakebread in Watertown and married to a Mary Cakebread. After she died a few years later Morse reports he married to the widow of Thomas Cakebread, Sarah Busby. But this has been disproved by the fact Thomas arrived with a wife "Sarah" with the Winthrop Fleet in 1630 and Sarah Busby arrived with her family aboard the Rose in 1637. However, the incorrect facts continue to be perpetuated on the internet. Also, for this theory to have been true, John Grout would have married, secondly, jis mother-in-law! Not very likely.
To conclude, Sarah was the second wife of Capt.John Grout, married about 1644, and it appears this was her first and only marriage.
Children: Sarah Grout, Joseph Grout, Abigail Grout, Jonathan Grout, Mary Grout, Susanna Grout, and Elizabeth Grout Allen Livermore.

Gravesite Details
May be buried in WAyland, but, like most Colonial ancestors, her stone, if she had one, probably disintegrated or no longer exists.
