Mrs. Smith was a bookkeeper and served on the board of Council on Aging for five years and later served as president for six years. She was an avid member of the Mullens United Methodist Church since 1944 and served as the church treasurer for 17 years. She was been a resident of Mullens for over 80 years.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Robert Smith; two brothers, James Hiram and Sam T. Hogg; and one nephew, Robert Eugene Hogg.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sharon Smith Rhoden and her husband, Jack Euell Rhoden; a grandson, Robert B. Pauley, III; a brother, Stephen Henry Hogg; and beloved sister-in-law, Ellen Bee Sizemore Hogg; a niece, Susan Hogg Ratliff; and three nephews, Stephen Henry Hogg, Jr., James Hiram Hogg, Jr., and Jeffrey P. Hogg.
Services were at the Mullens United Methodist Church with Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Family served as pallbearers.
Arrangements were by the Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.
