EAST TAYLOR TOWNSHIP —McKINLEY – Harry C., 91, East Taylor Township, passed away June 10, 2011, at Cambria Care Center. Born March 1, 1920, in Johnstown, son of the late Charles B. and Bernice M. (Blyler) McKinley. Preceded in death by wife, Wilda (Good) McKinley; sister, Alice Motter; half-brothers, John, Clark and Robert; and half-sisters, Louise Keating, Catherine Novasal and Laura Helman. Survived by children, Charla (Joseph) DiVittorio, Middletown, and Douglas (Diana) McKinley, Nanty Glo; four grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of Claude (Pat) McKinley, Johnstown, and Mildred (Donald) Tingley, New York; also numerous nieces and nephews. A 1940 graduate of Johnstown High School. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with 37 years of service, having worked in the Lower Works and the general office. World War II Navy veteran. Life member of Menoher Post 155 VFW, Johnstown. Former recording secretary and treasurer for the Greater Johnstown Retired Men's Club. Former volunteer with the Greater Johnstown Cambria County Convention and Visitors Bureau. Lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Golf Course, where he was an avid golfer. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Horace "Butch" Derr officiating. Interment, Headrick Union Cemetery. Military rites by Menoher Post 155 VFW Ritual Team.
