Rachel was the daughter of James William Chessor and Bessie Cavender. She married Thomas Cagle, Sr. on October 15 1840, in Hickman Co., TN. They were the parents of:

1. Charles Cagle (1841-1914),
2. James Cagle (1842-1864, died in the Civil War),
3. Sarah Elizabeth Cagle Coble (1844-1887, married William Riley Coble),
4. Adam Cagle (1845-1863, died in the Civil War),
5. Thomas Cagle (1847-1920),
6. Susan A. J. Cagle Gunter (1849-1913, married John T. Gunter),
7. Mary Ann Cagle (1850-1916),
8. Samuel Cagle (1852-1935, Memorial # 29073169),
9. Jesse Andrew Jackson Cagle (born 1854).

I did not find this grave when I transcribed the cemetery markers in 1999 & 2000. However, Ted and Jill Garrett listed a concrete cross bearing the inscription "Rachel Cagle" on November 7, 1965 (see "Hickman County, Tennessee Cemetery Records - Part 1" by Jill Garrett and Iris H. McClain).
