Funeral services for a lifelong resident of Hood County, Alba Rains, 88, of Granbury, were held Friday (June 24, 2005) at the Granbury Church of Christ.
The homemaker died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 in Granbury.
Burial was in Long Creek Cemetery beside her husband, Clyde Rains, who died March 3, 2005.
The mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of some of area's outstanding athletes, she and Clyde, were avid fans of all sports.

Mrs. Rains was a member of the Temple Hall Methodist Church. She had been an active in her community, church and her children's school activities.
Besides her husband, a son, George Rains, preceded her in death.
Surviving her are her children and spouses, Shirley and Gerald Hayworth, Leta and David Andrews, all of Granbury, Walt and Jamie Rains of Breckenridge, nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Arrangments were by Wiley Funeral Home of Granbury.
