John Martin Bernasconi, 85, of 2920 Grace St., died Monday at Richland Memorial Hospital.

Born in West Berlin, Vt., he was a son of the late Andrew E. and Julia Brusa Bernasconi.

Prior to his retirement in 1968, Mr. Bernasconi was co-owner and manager of Consolidated Granite Co.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Men's Bible Class and the Lutheran Church Men. He was also a life member of Acacia Lodge, A.F.M.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Albertina Antonelli Bernasconi; a daughter, Mrs. George (Jean) Fairhart of Cayce; two sisters, Mrs. Eugene [Palladini] of Newberry and Mrs. E. O. Rivardo of Potomac, Md.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev, Ralph Wallace and the Rev. Beverly D. Alexander. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lee Ambrosini, James Wessinger, Harold Steele Sr., J. Steadman Hall and Dan Martin.

Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge.
