DuWayne Hedberg passed away on January 28, 2001. He moved to Dewey, Arizona in 1999 to spend his last days with his sons. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer. With treatment he improved and resumed his busy life, repairing dirt roads, painting, a job at Prescott Fire Center, and being "ICE CREAM GRANDPA". God gave him a bonus year during which he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, which was the greatest gift of all.
He is survived by: wife, Hazel of Salt Lake City, Utah; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Laila Hedgerg of Eagle, Idaho, George and Janice Hedberg of Dewey, Arizona, Tad and Amy of Dewey, Arizona; daughters, Marsha Smith of Cedar City, Utah, Peggy Wendel of Bountiful, Utah; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2001, 11 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Prescott. Interment will be Friday,1 p.m., February 2, 2001 at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 S. Vine St. Memorial contributions to CNS Hospice, 6949 South High Tech Dr., Midvale, Utah 84047. Funeral directors, Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
