MARION BROTHERHOOD was born sometime during the night of July 11, 1910 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to Henry Earl Brotherhood, Sr. and his wife Emma, nee DeHaas. Marion's birth took place in the family's home located at 12 Thomas St.

Henry got a job as the foreman of a lumber mill in Ottawa, so Emma and their seven children moved from their home in Waukesha, WI to Ottawa to be with him. While living in Ottawa, Emma gave birth to Marion. The family moved back to Milwaukee, WI in about 1914.

When Marion was about 18, she met and fell in love with Donald B. Fraser. They eloped and were married by a Justice of the Peace on November 28, 1929 in Woodstock, IL.

On June 25, 1932, they repeated their wedding vows in front of family and friends in a service held at the home of the Rev. Thomas Gardner who officiated at the ceremony.

The couple was married for 57 years until the time of Donald's death on February 2, 1987.

Marion and Don were the parents of two daughters, the eldest being Patricia Jean Fraser (1937-1939). Their youngest daughter survives her parents and sister.

Marion was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker for her entire life. She loved to bake. Her home-made potato bread was the best bread ever. She also loved to sew and made small craft projects. Her home was spotless and was her source of pride. She was a wonderful hostess and each Christmas prepared a delicious meal for family members.

Donald and Marion lived in a number of Wisconsin communities including Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Brookfield, Shorewood and Mequon. They also lived for five years in Greenville, SC and for about two years in Newburgh, IN.

Marion and Don loved to travel throughout America in their Airstream travel trailer and, during retirement, spent a number of winters living in the trailer in Florida and Texas. In addition to travel, both loved music. Marion played the piano and organ and Don played the guitar and banjo and had his own three-piece band that played for weddings and parties.

Their family was their most precious possession. They are greatly loved and missed.
