DONALD BURROUGHS FRASER was born in Mason City, IA, on April 5, 1908 to Eugene Charles Fraser, and his wife, the former Hazel Sophia Louise Burroughs.

Donald's father, Eugene, was a traveling auditor for the Milwaukee Road railroad. Due to the nature of his job, he and his family resided in a number of cities over the years including Mason City, IA, Racine, WI, and Burlington, WI. The family, however, lived primarily in Milwaukee, WI.

When Donald was about 20 and living with his family in Milwaukee, he met and fell in love with Marion Brotherhood. They eloped and were married by a Justice of the Peace on November 28, 1929 in Woodstock, IL.

On June 25, 1932, they repeated their wedding vows in front of family and friends in a service held at the home of the Rev. Thomas Gardner who officiated at the ceremony.

The couple was married for 57 years until the time of Donald's death on February 2, 1987.

Marion and Donald were the parents of two daughters, the eldest being Patricia Jean Fraser (1937-1939). Their youngest daughter survives her parents and sister.

Donald worked for a number of companies during his lifetime. During the beginning of the Great Depression, he worked as a bank teller. He worked for about ten years for General Electric in Milwaukee. He also worked for a short time at Wisconsin Axle in Oshkosh, WI. For the remainder of his life he worked in various production control capacities for the Louis Allis Co., at their plants in Milwaukee, Greenville, SC, and Newburgh, IN .

Donald and Marion lived in a number of Wisconsin communities including Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, Brookfield and Shorewood. They also lived for five years in Greenville, SC and for about two years in Newburgh, IN.

Marion and Don loved to travel throughout America in their Airstream travel trailer and, during retirement, spent a number of winters living in the trailer in Florida and Texas. In addition to travel, both loved music. Marion played the piano and organ and Don played the guitar and banjo and had his own three-piece band that played for weddings and parties.

Their family was their most precious possession. They are greatly loved and missed.
