MAJOR GEORGE PRESTON CAMPBELL

Feb. 25, 1941 - June 9, 2013

Major George Preston Campbell, age 72, of Carrollton, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. He was born on February 25, 1941 in Marion, S.C. to the late Mr. Samuel Campbell and Mrs. Marguarite Love.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army where he was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and the Silver Star for his dedication and service.

He received a Bachelors degree from the University of Tampa.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Maggie Gibson Campbell; and multiple siblings.

Survivors include his daughters, Laney Seirsdale (Peter), of Pittsburg, Pa., Holly Ethan Sailors, of Carrollton, Michelle Strott (Thomas), of Rutledge, Ga.; sons, Phillip Campbell, of San Fransisco, Ca., Tyson Campbell; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Keeping with the family's wishes the body will be cremated following the service.
Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel in charge of arrangements.
