AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the VA Hospital, Mr. Russell J. Sims, 86, husband of the late Dorothy Jennings Redd Sims. Mr. Sims was born in Augusta and had resided in the area all of his life. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and a member of Druid Park Bible Church for 50 years. Family members include his son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Landra Skinner Sims of Waynesboro; grandchildren, David Sims of Hephzibah, Lara S. Nichols of Waynesboro; great-grandchildren, Cameron Sims, Harrison Sims, Leah Nichols; and brother, James W. Sims of Vidalia, Ga. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at 1 p.m. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Harry Lee Sims officiating.
