Loretta M. Bowman age 80 of County Rt. 59 Dexter passed away Friday morning at Samaritan Medical Center.

Loretta was born July 4, 1927 in Sackets Harbor. She was the daughter of Dyer and Nellie Sutherland Eveleigh. She graduated from Sackets Harbor High School and worked in the records room at Mercy Hospital. She married Harold Bowman on September 18, 1948 at the Sulphur Springs Methodist Church.

The couple moved to Pillar Point where they owned and operated a farm for 59 years.

Loretta was a member of Dexter Presbyterian Church, Dexter Grange and Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband Harold Bowman and two sons and their wives John and Esther Bowman of Eagle Pass, Texas and Donald and Jane Bowman of Dexter. She has four grandchildren and a brother Bernard Eveleigh of Ellisburg, nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by a son Richard in 1971 and a brother Donald Eveleigh.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter with the Rev. Gail Parsons, pastor of Dexter Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery
