Of Waltham, died peacefully at her home on June 15, 2013 surrounded by family and friends.
Born January 1, 1931 to Nicola and Maria (Caruso) Nicolazzo in Conflenti, Italy, region of Calabria. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1952 and resided in Bridgeport, CT for a short time prior to moving to West Newton, Massachusetts to be nearer her extended family.
She was the loving wife of the late Gabriel Caruso for 60 years. Resident of Waltham for 58 years. Preceded in death by her parents, her daughter RoseMary Washburn, her brother Bruno Nicolazzo and her sister Rosa Nicolazzo. She leaves her son George J. Caruso and her daughter Gina Caruso. She also leaves five grandchildren--T.J., Valerie, Michelle, Natalie and Kayla and three great-grandchildren --Haylee, Gavin and Gabriella Rose. She is also survived by three brothers--Michelangelo Nicolazzo and his wife Giovanna, Gennaro Nicolazzo and his wife Giuseppina, John Nicolazzo and his wife Anna, and sister in law, Maria Nicolazzo. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved and inspired.
Pasqualina's legacy will be her life lived as a woman for others. Her display of caring for her siblings, husband, children and grandchildren was the driving force guided by her strong faith in God. She was full of wisdom, strength and love and shared these gifts with all who knew her.
She held a special devotion to the Madonna della Quercia di Visora in Conflenti, Italy. She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Waltham.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., Waltham on Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Pasqualina's Life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Committal Services will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours on Thursday from 4 - 9 p.m. Parking attendants on duty
