Allen LeRoy Bakke

Allen LeRoy Bakke, 72, of Elbow Lake MN, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Broen Home, Fergus Falls MN, following several courageous years battling cancer.
Allen was born December 15, 1940, to Donald Lowell and Alice N. Bakke, Dane Prairie Township in Ottertail County Minnesota. He was educated in Elbow Lake MN, graduating in 1958. Allen then attended Wahpeton School of Science for drafting. Following his time at NDSCS, Allen enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years. Allen was baptized at Rock Prairie Lutheran Church and a member of United Lutheran Church.
On June 15, 1963, Allen was united in marriage to Sharon Evangeline Johnson, in Las Vegas Nevada. Allen spent the majority of his life farming in the Elbow Lake area until his illness required him to retire.
Along with Allen's hobbies of sculpting both metal and cement, he especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Allen was blessed with 14 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews and a host of great, great nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Bakke of Barrett MN and his loving wife, Sharon Evangeline Bakke.
Allen is survived by his son Arvid Bakke of Alexandria MN; father, Donald Bakke of Barrett MN; brother, Ronald (Alice) Bakke of Kelso, Washington; two sisters, Beverly Jost, of Walker, MN and Diane (David ) Odens, of Elbow Lake MN.
Service: 2 PM, Saturday, June 29, 2013, United Lutheran Church in Elbow Lake MN. Visitation two hours prior to the service.
Clergy: Pastor Chris Eldredge and Pastor Scott Ruud
Interment: Ness Cemetery, Elbow Lake MN
