Mr. Anthony Riggins, 44, died Sunday afternoon (February 10, 2013) at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross following an extended illness.
He was native of Brantley County and had lived most of his life there. He also lived in Pierce County for 12 years when he was employed with United Egg in Blackshear. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, J.B. Crews; his paternal grandparents, Joseph Ivey Riggins and Beulah Mae Riggins; and two cousins, Trent Crews and Eric Riggins.
Mr. Riggins is survived by three children, Lanie Ennis (husband Justin) of Hoboken, Molly Meyer of Hortense, and Colby Riggins of Blackshear; two grandchildren, Trig Ennis and Tuck Ennis of Hoboken; his parents, Charles W. Riggins and Janice Crews Riggins of Hoboken; his grandmother, Gussie Mae Crews of Nahunta; his girlfriend, Carly Martinez of Hoboken; two step-children, Ryan King of Blackshear and Chase King of Statesboro; former wife, Kay Thomas Riggins of Blackshear; several aunts and uncles, Clara Tapley (husband Thomas), Jimmy Crews (wife Linda), Angie McArthur (husband Kevin), and Travis Crews (wife Dana); and several cousins, Maggie McArthur, Kipp McArthur, Betsy Tapley Ward, Thomas E. "Trey" Tapley, III, James Pruitt, and Taite Crews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 (www.heart.org).
The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. Memorialization will be by cremation.
