Roy Alvin Whitling, 35, of Route 2, Emlenton, an employee of the J and L Steel Company in Bedford, Ohio, died at 8:10 PM Saturday in Bashline Hospital.
He was born October 4, 1928 in Emlenton, son of Viola Stewart and James Whitling.
He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Big Bend Methodist Church.
He was married to Pearl Hall in 1950 and she survives, along with five children, Linda, Ruth, Carol, Debra and Roy Whitling, JR; his mother and father; two brothers, James Whitling, JR of Nickleville and Paul Whitling of Route 1, Emlenton; three sister, Edna (Russell) Shaffer and Grace (Thomas) Schrecengost of Mercer and Caryl Whitling, at home, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends are being received at the Criswell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday with the Reverend Arthur Babbitt, of the Big Bend Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Big Bend Cemetery
