Jane Tholen-Hobbs died peacefully June 13, 2013 surrounded by her family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday June 18th, 2013, 10:30 AM, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Des Moines, Iowa. A private burial will take place at Scotchridge Cemetery.
Jane was born May 18th, 1943 to Janet (Schooler) Tholen and Victor Tholen. She grew up in Guthrie Center, Iowa and graduated from Guthrie Center H.S. and Grandview University. Jane's adult life was spent in the Des Moines area. She had a successful 33 year career with Pioneer Hybrid, Int. Her work took her to every corner of the Globe and enabled her to form lasting friendships with people all over the world.
Upon retirement, Jane and her husband Doug, built their dream home in Arizona. She enjoyed her winters in the sun, where her days were filled with bridge clubs and socializing. Nothing compared however, to her summers back home in Iowa where she could spend time with her Grandson, Cole.
Jane is survived by her mother Janet Tholen, Texas; her husband Douglas Hobbs; her son Douglas Kinman, Windsor Heights; her grandson Cole Kinman, Johnston; her daughter-in-law Braedi Kinman, Johnston; her brother Jim (Judy) Tholen, California; Tim (Ann) Tholen, Texas; stepson Bryan (Kathy) Hobbs, Iowa; step grandson Jeremy Hobbs, Iowa; and many close and loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Jane in death were her father, Victor Tholen and her beloved son David Kinman in 2007.
A visitation with family will be held Monday June 17th from 5 to 7 PM at Westover Funeral Home.
