Jason was the eighth of thirteen children born to David More and Elizabeth Gould More. He was raised at Roxbury where his father was a prominent farmer. Jason’s father relocated the family to Walton about 1839 where he had purchased 196 acres situated on the Delaware River. About 1843, Jason relocated to Michigan where he was a farmer and lumberman. When his health failed about 1850, he returned to the old homestead at Walton. Jason never married.
*Jason's brother, Andrew More, and Andrew's second wife, Sarah A. Silliman More, named their first child Jason Gould More.
*One record indicates that Jason was the first to be buried in this cemetery.
