Son of Johann August Tuchenhagen, a stone mason, and Wilhelmine Karoline Lise Grose. Born in Treptou on the Riga, Pomerania, Germany. Siblings were Augst Karl, Minna Emma, and and Augusta Luise. Came to America as a young man and to Nebraska in 1886. Married the widow of Ole Olesen Seveland, Johanna Torine Johannesdatter Seveland on August 31, 1889. Children - Minna Elvira Cornelia (b. 1890), Karl Friederich Wilhelm (b. 1891), and Gladys (died at birth). Karl followed the stone mason's trade. Nearly all of the old stone or cement houses in Gordon and the surrounding area were built with stone/cement blocks made by Karl.
