Born 20 Dec. 1826 in Tenn.
She moved to Arkansas and then to Missouri.
Prior to 1845 she married a Mr. Rountree and bore a son, James K. Rountree, in 1845 in Polk Co. Mo. Mr Rountree apparently died as she married Thomas S. Gillihan on 18 Sept. 1845.

In 1871 they moved to Sauvies Oreg. and from there to Clark Co. Wash. where she resided until her death. She died 30 Aug. 1905 at East Mill Plain, Vancouver, Wash. Jane Akin's father was James Akin, born in Ga. her mother was Elizabeth, born
in Tenn.
