She was born September 6, 1911 in Lawrence County, Illinois, daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine Cabbasier. Honorine was the widow of the late John R. Kieffer, who passed away in April of 1973.
Shw was a member of St. Mary's Cathoic Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. She was very active in the parish, the farm bureau and the soil and water division.
Honorine issurvived by her daughters, Martha Jo Hering of Greenwood, Indiana and Sheila S. (Walker) Wilson of Logan, Ohio; grandchildren, Susan Fryman, John Kieffer, Lisa McColly, Karen Phillips, David Hering, Colette (Walker) Simpson and Ron Walker; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Kelley Walker; son-in-laws, Ronald R. Walker and C. Robert Wilson;three brothers; and three sisters.
A funeral mass wil be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Carmel, Illinois.
Friends may call at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 403 Cherry Street, Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m. where a rosary service will be held at 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Honorine Kieffer to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 or to St. Mary's School, 125 West 5th Avenue, Mt. Carmel, Illinois 62863.
