Gerald "Spider" F. Aleixo of North Stratford, NH and formerly of Taunton died Friday Feb 22, 2002 at the Dartmouth Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 69. Born in Taunton, he graduated from Taunton High School in 1950. He worked as a truck driver for Cumberland Farms and retired as a self-employed landscaper eight years ago. He was a US Navy veteran during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post in Berkley and the VFW post in Lancaster. He was the son of the late Albert and Isabel (Enos) Aleixo.
He is survived by two sons, David and Daniel Aleixo, both of Taunton; six daughters, Deborah Carr, Donna Sherman, Doreen, Dianne, Darlene and Denise Aleixo, all of Taunton; six grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Mary Flint of Berkley.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home in Taunton on Tuesday at 10 a.m. followed by his funeral Mass at the Annunciation of the Lord Church at 11 a.m. His burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
