NETTLETON – Sandra Gayle Estes, 66, died Thursday, June 13, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness. She was born Nov. 28, 1946, in the Palmetto Community to Clifton E. and Aileen Butler Holcomb. A lifelong resident of Lee County, she worked many years for Tecumseh Products as a technician. A master housewife, she married Paul W. Estes on Jan. 21, 1972. She enjoyed reading, especially John Grisham novels, gardening, flowers and being outdoors. She adored her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a longtime member of the Limestone Baptist Church

A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, in the Nettleton Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. Wayne Brown and Bro. Tommy Ray Dabbs officiating. Private burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time Sunday, all at the Nettleton Chapel. Holland Funeral Directors Nettleton Chapel is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Paul W. Estes of Nettleton; one daughter, Niki Caldwell (Brent) of Central Grove; one brother, Donnie Ward (Rochelle) of Tallahatchie, Fla.; one sister, Judy Johnston (Gary) of Richmond Community; four grandchildren, Noah and Steven Estes, and Mason and Zack Caldwell; several aunts uncles and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Steven "Greg" Estes, who died April 13, 2011; her parents; and her grandparents who raised her, Jot and Sadie White.

Pallbearers will be Ben Brown, Wayne Brown, Butch Edwards, Mason Caldwell, Steven Estes, Noah Estes and Zack Caldwell.
