Shirlee J. Harter, 86 of Montezuma, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Shirlee June Harter, daughter of William and Winifred Proctor Grandstaff, was born on June 9, 1927 in Sidney, Iowa. She was a 1945 graduate of Grinnell High School. Shirlee was united in marriage to Charles Richard Good on November 15, 1947. they were the parents of two children, Charles Jr.(Chuck)and Kathy. Shirlee worked at the Monte Locker and the Malt and Burger shop a few years and especially enjoyed being a housewife and mother.

Shirlee loved her flowers, gardening, dancing and playing practical jokes. Family and her sisters were very important to her. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished her time with them.

Richard passed away in September of 1978. Shirlee then married John Harter in May of 1985. She was also a member of the Moose Lodge in Newton.

Shirlee is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Richard Good and John Harter, her sisters Claudine Koger and Virginia Prusha; and her brothers Gene Grandstaff and Ronald Grandstaff.

She is survived by her children Charles R.(Ione)Good of Cape Coral, Florida and Kathy(Jack)Grife of Montezuma; her grandchildren; Johyn Good and Charlie Good both of North Liberty, Richard(Joanie)Grife of Marshalltown, Jacki(Leroy)Carlson of Pleasant Hill, Ryan(Lindsey) Grife of Adel, and Ronnie Grife of Thornton, Co.; six great grandchildren; Liberty, Ella, Brady, Ben, Trinity and Lauryn; her sister Mary(Les)Curry of Deep River and three sisters-in-law, Betty Prusha of Tama, Luella Good of Montezuma and Mildred Hess of Newton.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will begin after 12 pm Friday, June 14, 2013 at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 pm Memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department and Ambulance.
