NOTES ON JUDGE BRAMLETTE'S BIRTH YEAR AND MARRIAGES -
The birth year on Judge Bramlette's tombstone is woefully incorrect! It says he was born March 1851 but that was the year he married his first wife, Adella Ann Bates. They were married March 4, 1851 in Bexar, Texas. He married 2nd Caroline "Carrie" Dillard about 1867. He married a third time to twice widowed Nancy "Nannie" (Hunt) Senter Smith, about 1886.

Further proof of his birth year and marriages is based on the following census records:
1850 Clinton Co., Kentucky, age 23, born about 1828, single
1860 Lamar Co., Texas, age 33, born about 1827, married to Adella A.
1870 Lamar Co., Texas, age 43, born about 1827, married to Caroline
1880 Lamar Co., Texas, age 53, born about 1827, married to Caroline
1900 Terrell, Kaufman Co., TX, age 74, b. March 1826, md. to Nannie"

PAST GRAND MASTER WILLIAM BRAMLETTE
Knowing that Past Grand Master William Bramlette had for many
years been intimately associated with Bro. Moses, I requested him to
write an "In Memoriam" of Bro. Moses, and he was engaged in this service
when he, too, was stricken down by the grim reaper and died July
21, 1908.
Bro. Bramlette was born in Cumberland county, Kentucky, April
30, 1827, and removed to Texas in 1852. In his everyday life he was
honorable and useful. To his church he was faithful, and to his friends
he was loyal. Early in life he became interested in Masonry, and
gradually he grew to recognition as one speaking with authority. He
was Grand Master in 1873, and Grand High Priest in 1877. It became
his privilege and duty to contribute much to the general knowledge of
Masonry through Masonic journals and periodicals, and his pen was
yet employed as it rang toward evensong when he heard the summons
to new labor and to prepare for the eternal day.
