An Old Resident Passes Away
Morris Foley, an old and esteemed citizen of Amity township, died Monday last at his home near Cornell, after several weeks sickness. The day after the election Mr. Foley fell from a road cart, striking on the back of his head. The injury, together with a disease of the kidneys, brought on sickness which could not be reached by medical skill. He died surrounded by kindred and friends. He leaves a family of ten children to mourn his death. Mr. Foley came to this county in 1855 and by industry and economy amassed a fortune. He was a man of genial traits, warm hearted and true to friends, and his death will be sincerely mourned, not only by kinsmen but by all who knew him. His funeral services were held Wednesday at the Catholic church of this city and was largely attended. He was buried in the Catholic cemetery east of the city.
