Howard A. Van Etten of Marlboro,passed away on December 24,2006 at St. Francis Hospital,Poughkeepsie,N.Y.



Mr. Van Etten was a 1942 graduate of Colgate University as well as a member of Free and Accepted Masons of Lodge #993,Woodbury.He was a U.S. Air Force Captain of World War II,a B-25 Bomber Pilot,340th Bombardment Group (M).He was also a Chemical Engineer for E.I. Dupont Corporation,Newburgh,for eight years.In 1950 he left Dupont to work in the family business and become owner of R.A. Van Etten Black Topping of Orange County,along with his brother Ralph after his father's passing.

Survivors include his wife,Grace "Gaye" Van Etten at home;one son Glen and his wife,Suzanne Poulson of Marlboro;daughter Dale and her husband,Stephen Temmel of Woodland Hills,Calif.;one brother-in-law,Patrick Festa of Marlboro;two grandsons,Stephen James Temmel of Calif. and Michael Pisano;as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers,Robert and Ralph Van Etten

Visitation will be on Tuesday,December,26,2006 from 12-3 p.m. with a service at the DiDonato Funeral Home.Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery,Marlboro
