Georgetta was named after her grandfather, George Ozbun, and Etta from her father's brother, Nathan Pippin's wife, Mary Etta Crain. She didn't have a middle name, but as a child, she liked to be called Georgetta Lucille like her sister Dorothy. Georgetta was the eighth child born to Joseph Edde Pippin and Ada May Ozbun Willis Pippin in Urbana, Missouri.

She played the piano for the Christian Church in Urbana, Missouri. During high school in Urbana, she played the alto horn (looked like French horn played on opposite side) and lettered, and placed in first place in state contest. She also played basketball (was on high school team when in 8th grade). She liked math in high school.

Her favorite color was green and favorite flower was a rose. Her hobby was dancing.

At the age 14, Georgetta's first job was a waitress at Corner Cafe in Urbana, Missouri. She moved to Kansas City, worked as Montgomery Wards as a order entry checker. She was supervisor of dry cleaning company, Scotch Dry Cleaning Company, in Kansas City. There she hired her sister, Helen. They had over 11 stores. She moved on to work at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, then, Whiteman Air Force Base for seven years running a parts store from weed eaters to bulldozers. She bailed hay and combined beans on the farm with Warren Lawrence. She worked for H&R Block for two years, then started her own company, Georgetta's Tax Service. She purchased Pettigrews (a liquor store) in Holden Missouri. She owned the hotel and the Stumble Inn in Holden.

Marriages:
1. Robert Eugene Lear (b. May 19, 1933, in Missouri, son of Ernest Guy Lear and Mable Irene Miller Lear) m. January 26, 1951, in Louisburg, Dallas, Missouri. They had a son and daughter.

2. Robert Franklin Harbison (b. November 26, 1924 in Eldon, Miller, Missouri. d. November 17, 1962, in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri) m. August 12, 1958, in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri. Robert brought a son to the marriage and they had two sons.

3. Warren Lexie Lawrence (b. September 10, 1926 in Arkansas d. June 10, 1980, in Holden, Johnson, Missouri) m. June 29, 1969, in Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada

4. Lawrence William Chaney (b. November 2, 1925, in Harrisonville, Cass, Missouri d. June 26, 2006, in Warrensburg, Johnson, Missouri) m. May 25, 1984, in Holden, Johnson, Missouri. This marriage was ended.

Georgetta Lawrence passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at the age of 79, at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She had been a long time resident in Holden, Missouri,

She was survived by four sons and one daughter, one sister, Eva L. Flowers, of Buena Vista, Colorado; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters. three husbands, a grandson, Joshua Robert Duncan, and great grandson, Randall Frank Harbison.

The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home in Holden. Missouri. The funeral followed at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions were suggested to be given to the American Heart Association.
