Emil Voss, 81, of 508 Hazel street, died at 5 o'clock this morning at the Atlantic Hospital, where he had been a patient since July 23. He had been in failing health two years.
The son of Chris and Anna Ehlers Voss, he was born June 24, 1878, on a farm near Walnut and farmed in that vicinity until retiring and moving to Atlantic in 1931. He was married to Alvena Stamp Feb. 18, 1903, at the home of here parents near Walnut.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Harry C. Voss of Walnut and Elmer Voss of Marne; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Brix of Walnut; a sister, Mrs. Rudolph Sievers of Walnut; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Ben and John Voss; a sister Mrs. Lena Rethwisch and a grandson, Darrelyn Brix.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roland Funeral Home, the Rev. Dale D. Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
