Services for Ethel Leola Banister, 98, of Edwardsville were held Sept. 22 at Edwardsville Baptist Church with the Revs. Benny Abney and Brent Thompson officiating.

Burial followed in the Edwardsville City Cemetery. Dryden Funeral Home was in charge of the services.

Mrs. Banister died Sept. 19 at Cleburne County Nursing Home. She was born April 19, 1904, in Edwardsville. She was a lifelong resident of Cleburne County and a member of Edwardsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Herbert Banister of Cartersville, Ga.; three daughters, Betty B. Child of Loganville, Ga., Grace B. Presley of Covington, Ga., and Jane B. Pugh of New Orleans, La.; two brothers, Noel Thompson of Edwardsville and Norman Thompson of Heflin; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Keith Presley, Randall Childs, Glenn Robinson, Ernest Charles, Bart Gregory, James Edwards, Roy Thompson and Woody Thompson.
