Willie Mae Norwood, age 77, of Peterson, died May 19, 2011, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert E. Norwood; her grandson, Jason Gamble; and six brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Ronda Stanley (Billy) and Karen Heitz (John); her sons, Robert K. Norwood (Laura) and Keith Norwood (Martha); her brother, James Green; her grandchildren, Brian Stinson, Tim Snow, Tyler Heitz, Joey Norwood, Amy Whinery, Beth Norwood, Scott Norwood, Brad Norwood, Brandon Norwood, and Jenny Parson; and six great-grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. We were truly blessed and honored to have her in our lives.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Brian Stinson, Tim Snow, Tyler Heitz, Scott Norwood, Brad Norwood, and Brandon Norwood.
