Mrs. Ostene Bailey Walters, 91, of 1502 Yacht Club Road, Hartwell, died Monday, June 10, 2013 at Ty Cobb Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 21, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jeptha Bailey, Sr. and Lula Chastain Bailey. She was a homemaker and a southern Baptist.
Survivors include her husband, Mell W. Walters of the home; one daughter, Andrea Walters Harris of Atlanta; one son, Thomas Mell Walters of Nashville, TN; one brother, Jep Bailey, Jr.; one sister, Marlene Jarrett; five grandchildren: Ashley Walters, Andrew Walters, Robert Harris, William Harris, and Ian Walters.
Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David Bailey Walters.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Rev. Sam Dulaney officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Reed Creek Baptist Church, 116 Boleman Hill Road, Hartwell, GA 30643.
