Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in Evergreen Memorial Park for Ralph W. Kirkwood of Issaquah, Wash., a native of Amity. He died at the age of 57 on June 25, 1981, as the result of an aircraft accident while on a fishing trip in Canada.

The Rev. Richard Treadwell of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will officiate.

Son of Florence and Glenn Kirkwood of Amity, he was born April 21, 1924. He attended school in Beaverton and was active in midget auto racing throughout the Northwest for several years.

Mr. Kirkwood moved to Seattle 30 years ago and worked as a machinist. For the past several years, he owned his own tooling and machine shop in Issaquah.

Survivors include his wife, Margery Kirkwood of Issaquah, and a brother, Lawrence G. Kirkwood of Fort Worth, Texas, both of whom were with Mr. Kirkwood at the time of the crash; his mother, Florence Patty Kirkwood of Amity; and a sister, Margaret Lorene Ferris of McMinnville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mid-Valley Workshop.

Arrangements are being handled by Macy & Son Funeral Directors of McMinnville.
