and Mable (Kramer) Morrison. She married Floyd Potts
on August 2, 1934. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1954.
She married Kenneth Walter Ross on November 12, 1960 at Westminster Presbyterian
Church in Harrisville Mrs. Ross spent her entire life in Harrisville.
She was employed at Northern Sportswear of Harrisville and then by the Alcona
County Welfare Department which later became the
Michigan Department of Social Services.
She served on the Harrisville City Council. She was also involved with the Order
of the Eastern Star, the Presbyterian Women’s Association and the welfare board.
Mrs. Ross is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Richard) Lambert of Bloomfield
Hills, Mich. and Janet (Webb) Martin of Harbor Springs, Mich.; eight grandchildren,
Helen Dix, Matthew Dix, Pauline (Troy) Somers, Fred Potts, Ross Lambert, Margaret
Lambert, David Martin (Meghan) Yamaniski, and Kelly (Andrew) Warner; 11
great grandchildren; one sister, LaVern Apsey of Birmingham, Mich.; two sisters-inlaw,
Mary Elizabeth Jackson and Margaret Ross; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, on January 7, 1980; and her
son, Dale Potts, on May 14, 2000.
A memorial service was held on Monday, Jan. 7 at the Westminster Presbyterian
Church, Harrisville. The Rev. Thomas Welscott officiated.
Cremation arrangements were made through Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Memorials contibutions may be given to the Westminster Presbyterian
Church, Harrisville, Alcona Habitat for Humanity or to a
charity of the donor’s choice.
