LaVern M. Apsey, 89, of Birmingham, Mich. died on
Friday, May 28, 2010 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal
Oak, Mich.
She was born July 19, 1920, in Gustin Township to Fred
and Mabel (Kramer) Morrison.
She married Lynn Apsey on February 3, 1940 in Alpena.
They relocated to the Detroit, Mich. area following their
wedding.
She was employed by Coated Gloves as an assembly
worker for many years, eventually retiring from the company.
She enjoyed the out-of-doors and hunting on her family's
property in Hawes Township. She also enjoyed cooking for
her family, knitting and Tiger baseball.
Mrs. Apsey is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Dennis)
Cleary; four grandchildren, Chris (Nena) Hupp, Jeff (Mary
Ann) Hupp, Martha (Tom) Gurecki and Michael (Lisa) Cleary;
six great-grandchildren, Faith Hupp, Graham and Gracie
Hupp and Sydney, Hannah, and Jack Gurecki; and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Roni Ross; one
daughter, Kara Hupp, on September 28, 2002; and her
husband, Lynn Apsey, on June 23, 1998.
A memorial service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral
Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile roads),
Clawson, Mich. Wednesday, June 2 at noon. Visitation will
begin at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy, Mich.
Memorials may be made to Beaumont Hospice, 1200
Stephenson Highway, Troy, Mich. 48303.
