Herbert L. Denton
SCIENCE HILL - Herbert Lloyd Denton, 76, Ridgeway Drive, Lancaster, died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Lexington.
Born April 30, 1920, in Science Hill, he was a son of the late Charles Lincoln and Sophronia Hall Denton. He was a retired shoe repairman and truck driver. He was a WW II Army veteran and member of Lancaster Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Willie Mae Marshbanks Denton; two sons, Lloyd Murrell Denton, Science Hill, and Charles Boyd Denton, Lancaster; five daughters, Jean Church of Lancaster, Carolyn Langdon of Burnside, Charlottte Miller of Ferguson, Gail Wilson of Danville and Mary Lou Stepp, Colo Community, Pulaski County; two brothers, Raymond Denton, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Ted Denton, Science Hill; two sisters, Margaret Brammer, Indianapolis, and Pansy Cooper, Somerset; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Della Mae Coffey.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home by the Revs. Bob Rush and Jim Muse. Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.
