Raymond C. Denton, 95, of Columbus, passed from this life at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Denton had worked in the shipping department at Lewellen Manufacturing, he was a self employed auto mechanic specializing in Volkswagens and he did carpentry work.
Raymond had attended the Church of the Galilean and most recently attended Shiloh Separate Baptist Church on Georgetown Road.
He was a member of Hoosier Hillbilly Camping Club and the Ogala Saddle Club.
Raymond's hobbies included hunting, fishing, pitching horseshoes and playing music; he was especially fond of the harmonica.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Larry Calhoun officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or Shiloh Separate Baptist Church.

Born in Science Hill, Kentucky March 4, 1917, Mr. Denton was the son of Charles L. and Sophronia Hall Denton. He married Ina Wesley July 27, 1937. She preceded him in death December 9, 2004.
Survivors include sons, Scotty W. (Waltraud) Denton of Columbus and Dewey R. (Sharon) Denton of Illinois; daughters, Leona M. Timbrook and Loretta Hall both of Columbus; a brother, Ira "Ted" Denton of Science Hill, KY; a sister, Pansy M. Cooper of Somerset, KY; 13 grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Denton was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a daughter, Deloris Gardner; a brother, Lloyd Denton and a sister, Margaret Brammer.
