Son of John & Martha Howard
[Bio by Rhetta]: Elijah "Lisha" Howard was born in March 1870 (1870 Census), the youngest child of John H. & Martha (Robertson) Howard. This would put his year of death at 1886 (his grave marker in Ferguson Family Cemetery, Logan Co., Arkansas, shows his age at death as 16 years). In 1870, the Howard family lived in Washburn Township (Black Jack P.O.), Sebastian County, Arkansas. This would indicate that Elijah "Lisha" was born in Sebastian County, Arkansas. On the 1880 Census the Howard family still lived in Washburn Township, Sebastian County, Arkansas and Elijah is 10 years old. By the 1900 Census, both Elijah "Lisha" and his father were deceased, but his mother was still living in Washburn Township, Sebastian County. From this I would guess that his death occurred in Sebastian County, but he was buried in Logan County, as the Howard family farm in Sebastian County was very close to the Logan County line.
