Nellie was the daughter of Andrew Aarons and Waty Surber. She married W.D. Howorth on Nov 29, 1906 at Woodbine, Iowa.

June 6, 1936 - Carroll Daily Herald - Final rites for Mrs. W.D. Howorth, sister of Mrs. W.H. Scharnweber, who passed away Friday morning in Cherokee, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Scharnweber home on North Carroll street. Rev. Claude R Cook of the Methodist Episcopal church will conduct services and interment will be in the Westlawn cemetery at Glidden under the direction of the Huffman Funeral home.

She was born Nellie Aarons, on Sept 25, 1881, on a farm south of Lanesboro, the daughter of Andrew and Waty Aarons. She spent her girlhood in that community and attended the rural schools.

On Nov 29, 1906 she became the bride of W.D. Howorth at Woodbine, Iowa. They lived there until the death of Mr. Howorth on Feb 12, 1927. Mr Howorth had been connected with the Seible department store at Woodbine. Following his death, Mrs. Howorth lived in Sioux City until she became ill 6 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church, Rebekah lodge, and Pythian sisters.
