Newman was an avid fisherman. His most enjoyable times were spent at the cabin in Minnesota with family and friends. He was happiest out on the lake with a fishing pole in hand. In retirement, he enjoyed the opportunities he had to travel and go on cruises.
While not traveling, he enjoyed keeping busy, whether in his yard or fixing things around the house. He was an incredible handyman. He loved doing things for and with his family. Oh and did we mention he loved fishing?
He is survived by the love of his life, JoAnn; Son, Mark and Debra Hawkins; Daughter, Lori and Terry McMullen; Three wonderful grandchildren: Ronnie, Kirsten and Erin; brothers: Ralph E. and Naomi Hawkins and Glenn Hawkins.
