Gloria Yellowhorse Jarnagin of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2013. Gloria will be greatly missed by her husband, James Jarnagin, son, Richard Jarnagin, daughter Kimberly Jarnagin, son-in-law, Danny Sandoval, grandchildren, James Turberville, Curtis Jarnagin, Jonathan Jarnagin, Savannah Sheafe, Bronson Sheafe and Cheyenne Jarnagin, brothers, Frank Yellowhorse and John Yellowhorse, sisters, Mary Ann Brooks, Jane Yellowhorse Jones, Artie Yellowhorse and Betty Yellowhorse, brother-in-law, Dennis Jones, sisters-in-law, Barbara Yellowhorse and Elsie Yellowhorse, nephew, David Yellowhorse and his wife, Yazbah, nieces, Desiree Yellowhorse and Lei Lani Klutke and many more nieces, nephews and extended family whom she loved dearly. Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Amber Turberville, her father, Arthur Beasley (hastiin tse nashii), mother, Anna Marie Beasley and brothers, Juan Yellowhorse and Shush Yellowhorse. Gloria was born on the Navajo reservation at Querino Canyon one of nine children. Gloria attended St. Michaels Indian School and Sanders High School. Gloria was an adventurous spirit who traveled throughout the country and overseas to England and China. Gloria lived in Arizona, Wyoming, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio and Maryland. Gloria lived for five years in Turkey where her husband Jim worked for a large construction company. Gloria was married to her husband for forty-seven years and was a devoted homemaker. Gloria greatest passion was the indian jewelry business in all phases as silversmith, designer and salesperson. For the last twenty-five years of her life she traveled the east coast of the United States showing Yellowhorse Jewelry in many galleries, the Smithsonian, the Department of Interior Indian Crafts Shop and made many wonderful and lifelong friends. A Memorial Mass presided by Fr. Rafael Garcia SJ will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Avenue NW in Albuquerque, NM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. and burial will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Lupton Cemetery, Lupton, AZ (Fort Yellowhorse) at 2:00 p.m. A reception following burial will be held at the home of John and Barbara Yellowhorse three miles west of Lupton on Old Highway Route 66.
