Charles W. Murphy
ARCOLA, Ill. — Charles William Murphy, 93, of Arcola died at 9 p.m. Sunday in Cunningham Nursing Home, Mattoon. He leaves more than 110 descendants.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Shrader Funeral Home, Arcola, with Rev. Curtis Wheatley officiating. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Murphy was born Oct. 10, 1878, in Kansas. He married Ora Allison in 1898 in O'Fallon. She died in 1956.
Survivors include two sons, John of Mogadore, Ohio, and Walter of Arcola; two daughters, Flossie McCollough of Chicago and Mrs. Neoma Boling of Denver, Colo; and 29 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Murphy was a retired employe of the Illinois Central Railroad.
