GERTRUDE J. DIMOND

ARCOLA — Mrs. Gertrude J. Dimond, 85, of Arcola, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 26, 1978) in her home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church in Arcola with the Rev. William Yanney officiating. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Shrader Funeral Home in Arcola. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery.

She was born April 12, 1893, in Kewanee, the daughter of Zeri and Sarah Ann Jordan. She married William R. Dimond Oct. 16, 1920 in Arcola. He died in 1951.

Mrs. Dimond was a registered nurse and served as Douglas County nurse for many years. She was a past matron and 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Arcola, a member of the White Shrine, and a 50-year member of the Arcola Women's Club.

Mrs. Dimond donated the property for the We Care Nursing Home in Arcola.

She is survived by a sister, Lola Mincer of Nebraska; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Neal of Des Plaines; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
