Charles was born at 105 Metropolitan Avenue in Brooklyn and was then Baptized at St. Nicholas Catholic Church at 26 Olive Street, Brooklyn, NY on April 9th, 1893.
He married Loretta Wright on Feb. 24, 1913 in Brooklyn at 364 Graham Avenue and had three daughters (Ruth, Florence & Adeline) and three other children who passed in infancy.
Charles was a truck driver yet started out with a team of horses (hence the modern "Teamsters" for truck drivers).
As a hobby he kept pigeons on the roof of his building.
