Joni K. Chaffin, 57, of Port Clinton, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Joni was born on July 3, 1955, in Port Clinton, the daughter of Ralph and Patricia (Carnicom) Boling. On May 4, 1974, in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, she married Wayne Chaffin and he survives.

Joni worked at Local 497, Uniroyal, Super K in Fremont, Great Scot, and Weight Watchers. She especially loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren. Joni will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Wayne Chaffin; son, Ryan (Kristen) Chaffin; daughter, Lisa (David) Luebcke; grandson, Izaak "my man" Luebcke; beautiful granddaughters, Breanna Chaffin, Mackenzie Chaffin and Mattie Luebcke; sister, Lori (Burt) Johnson; brothers, David (Leslie) Boling and John (Tammy Franks) Boling; brothers-in-law, Fred (Mary) Chaffin, Mark Chaffin and Chuck Chaffin; sister-in-law, Darlene (Denny) Robel; and many precious nieces, nephews, and friends.

Joni was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Gwen Boling; parents, Patricia "Pat" Boling and Ralph Boling; many aunts, uncles and cousins, Vicki Carnicom, Robin Rider and Raymond Boling.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, conducted by Rev. Karl Kessler. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Joni may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.

Magruder Hospital for all the kindness, support, care and love they gave to Joni, and also for putting up with her let's say "outgoing personality".
