Robert Luman Thayer Jr., 87, of Heritage Village Health Care Center, formerly of 6 Cherry Lane, Lakewood, died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 8, 2004) in the nursing home.
A native of Jamestown, he was born Dec. 23, 1916, the son of Robert and Alvida Swanson Thayer Sr. He is survived by his wife, June N. Luchs Thayer, whom he married Oct. 28, 1939; a daughter, Patricia Ann Wilson of LasVegas; two sons: Richard G. Thayer of Cheney's Point and John E. Thayer of Lakewood; nine grandchildren: 13 great-grandchildren; a half sister, Nancy Moranda of Hamburg; and a half brother, Theodore Thayer of Florida. He was preceded in death by a brother William Thayer. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
