Leon Daniel Watson, Sr., 68, of 366 Lowry Lane, Hanover, died Friday Feb. 5, 1999, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born on July 26, 1930, in Madison, the son of Thomas and Frances Todd Watson. He was a former employee of Reliance Electric, Bennett Motors, Scott Motors and Jessey's Motors. He was a member of Broadway Second Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Davidteen Cosby Watson; four daughters, Phyllis Mobley, of Eden Prairie, Minn., Amelia Watson of Hanover, Janree Wise of Madison, and Glenda Watson of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Leon Watson, Jr., of Minneapolis, Minn.; three sisters, Kathryn Watson, Virginia Watson and Janelle Duncan, all of Madison; one brother Wilburn Watson of Cincinnati, and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and his stepfather, Samuel Duncan.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vail-Holt Funeral Home Hanover Chapel, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Military graveside services will be conducted by American Legion Post 9.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Leon Watson Memorial Fund.

Vail-Holt and Lytle Gans Andrew Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
